I was however disappointed in this album of songs, with some exceptions. I had heard snippets of this singer/songwriter on You Tube, etc and was impressed with this style and voice. Since I live in Texas and I have seen playbills advertising his performances in the DFW metroplex I will catch a live performance, maybe he has a commanding stage presence.
I put this on all the time for people and they love it too. I love this CD, this guy. It stays in my mental rotation for top X great albums.
Funny, outrageous, touching and just plain fun. Buy this album and keep it in the CD player 'cause you'll listen to it over and over. Hayes Carll is the new face of country music for me and this album is fantastic. Great songs, great lyrics and funny stories - It's all here and just in time to lift your spirits for 2009.
BUY THIS, YOU WON'T REGRET IT. Don Imus's, Imus in the Morning, is a great place to hear good music. And had to go out & buy this one. This is some of the best listening music I have heard in a long time. Saw Hayes Carll on Imus in the Morning, He is Great, Just Plane Good Music, you can understand. I saw him on Imus in the morning. From Older bands that are still good but don't have the top 40 stuff.
I think of myself as a fan of all music except country. For 5 dollars an excellent buy. The songs are witty, fun, and they just make you feel great. This is the album that might break the seal.
